We have been learning about addition and subtraction in kindergarten. We loved making playdough meatballs and then "smashing" the ones we were subtracting (or taking away). Kindergarten mathematicians even wrote equations to go with our smashing actions. We can't wait to play this game again!

First Grade Writers
First graders from Mrs. Hackett's class visited us yesterday to share their opinion writing. We loved hearing all their opinions about so many different things. Thank you first graders.

Honeybees
Today we began to learn about honeybees. We were able to look closely at a box-shaped wooden hive, frames, beekeeper's outfit, and smoker. We discussed how the different objects were used in making honey. Students also learned a lot about honeybees and their jobs. We will learn even more about bees tomorrow.

Flynn Companion Workshop for Shh! We Have A Plan
A teacher from the Flynn came to our classroom today. He taught us that a performer shows how he/she feels with their face and body, not just their words. We acted like the characters in Shh! We Have A Plan. We pretended that we were sneaking through the forest and lunging to catch the bird. We can't wait to see the show on Wednesday, May 9 at the Flynn.
