Nature Poetry Writing

It was a bit chilly on Friday.  That didn't keep these kindergarten poets from using their senses to observe and write about everything around them.  Great job, writers!  Stay tuned for our nature poems.

Groovin and Moovin Morning Meeting on Friday

Our entire school participated in a movement break Friday morning.  Our kindergarten class did burpees, jumping jacks, lunges, squats, etc.  We were able to move for the entire time.  We love our morning workouts.  It is a good thing we work out every morning before class starts, or we might not have been able to do all the activities.  Great job kindergarteners!

Outdoor Adventures

We continue to enjoy our time outdoors and learn so much from our Neighborhood Forest.  Kindergarten scientists are very observant!  These students notice everything around them.  They demonstrate curiosity and respect for the natural environment daily.

Is it an Insect or Not?

We spent most of the day outside today!  The weather was great!  Kindergarten scientists spent time investigating and observing living things that were around our schoolyard, in the fields, and in the woods.  These enthusiastic scientists found lots of interesting things.  We sketched and labeled what we found.  We will spend time tomorrow sharing our discoveries and discussing what makes an insect an insect.  This kindergarten group is getting really good at telling the difference between an insect and something that is not an insect.

Do you know which of these are insects and which ones are not insects?

Cloud Dough

 Hi Families,

We had a wonderful time playing with our cloud dough today.  We made it on Monday and love the smell and feel of the dough.  Students are bringing their cloud dough home today.  It is quite messy!  Cloud dough can dry out quickly and needs to be wrapped and bagged.  We even added a little lotion when we played with it.  Students also found that it softens up as they handle it.  I suggest having them play with it on a tray outside or at a table.  You want to avoid getting it on the carpet.  I included the recipe below our photos. Thank you families for sending in the ingredients for our dough. We appreciate it.
