One mile walk

Today our class took a one-mile walk/run.  Mrs. Lister's preschool class challenged us to walk a mile.  It was a wonderful day to take on the challenge.   We enjoyed our time outside and completed the walk in 25 minutes.

A Beautiful Day in the Woods

Our class spent most of the day outside on Wednesday.  We examined rotting logs to see what lives on them, under them, and in them.  Our class found many critters.  We were excited to find a red eft or Eastern newt, beetles, ants, pillbugs, and a variety of other living creatures.  Students were also fascinated with the moss and fungi growing on the logs.  Later we took our book bins outside.  It was relaxing to read our books under trees, on logs, and on benches in the woods.  What a wonderful day in the sunshine and woods!

Outdoor Classroom

Our class has been enjoying the newest RES outdoor classroom space, The Neighborhood Forest.  This new space is in the woods behind our classroom.  Our kindergarten scientists have been exploring the area.  They are careful observers and do a nice job recording what they discover.  We are very excited to have this new space available to us.
