Read to Self

Kindergarten readers have been learning how to read to self.  We read the whole time.  (We are up to four minutes.)  We look at our books.  We stay in our spots.  We stay focused.  What great readers!

Sign Language in Kindergarten

We learned our names in sign language today.  We also learned a few animal signs and how to count to 10 in sign language.  We hope to have a sign language lesson each week.

Outdoor classroom

Kindergarten students worked very hard this morning to clean up our outdoor classroom/gazebo.
We swept and picked up rocks and wood chips.  Students worked together to make the outdoor learning space look even better.  What a great start to the week.  Kindergartners are showing that they know how to respect their environment.

Day 3 of Kindergarten

Our class is full of eager mathematicians!  Students were busy counting and exploring materials today.  They had fun building and creating with unifix cubes and pattern blocks.

Day 2 in Kindergarten

Our second day of school was so much fun!  What an engaging group of students.  I am impressed by how quickly they are making friends, learning routines and following rules.  Their smiles and laughter made my day.

First Day of Kindergarten

We had an awesome first day of kindergarten, despite the heat.  We learned a little sign language and
yoga.  Kindergarten students enjoyed playing and exploring in the classroom, on the playgrounds and in the new gazebo/outdoor classroom.  We had Enrichment with Mrs. Rankin and Spanish with Senora Harris.  We even had time for a math lesson.  What a wonderful group!
