Reading with New Friends

Eighth graders from Camel's Hump Middle School came to visit us today.  We retold the story of
Mrs. Wishy-Washy and acted it out with puppets.  Then our new friends read books to us.
We all had a wonderful time!  Thank you, Ms. Stern, for coming over with your students.

Stuffed Animal Day

Our class had stuffed animal day today!  We earned stuffed animal day by working hard to learn and follow school-wide expectations.  Students brought in their stuffed animals from home.  They wrote about their animals and read to them at reading time.  Everyone enjoyed introducing their stuffed animal to the class.

First Day of School

We had a wonderful first day of kindergarten!  Students enjoyed exploring pattern blocks in math.  They also had a great time on the playground.  They are already making new friends and learning about our classroom and school.

Observing Ants

We are scientists who observe the world around us.  This afternoon we observed ants.  We learned that ants can climb grass and trees.  We saw ants crawling in and out of ant holes.  Ants were busy carrying food and crawling all over the ground and plants.  We even noticed that there are different kinds of ants in our schoolyard.  Another thing we noticed is that ants are fond of Froot Loops.

Field Trip to Barber Farm

We planted winter squash at Barber Farm today.
