We created snow marble runs outside today. Students did a great job problem solving and came up with several successful ways for marbles to travel a path or maze. We also did science experiments involving ice and salt. We made predictions about what would happen to the ice when we poured salt on top. Students shared examples of real life experiences involving salt and ice on driveways, sidewalks, and roads. It was interesting to see the way our ice reacted to the salt. Some ice became pitted and others became slushy. We also added liquid watercolor to our ice experiments. Colors mixed and traveled in cracks and crevices. We love outdoor learning!
