Math Exploration

Today kindergarten mathematicians explored pattern blocks and unifix cubes.
We discovered that you could build in different directions, make patterns, designs and so much more. Students had fun exploring the materials and talking with each other about what they made and what they noticed.

Thank you!

Thank you kindergarten families.  We appreciate all the supplies you sent in for us. We have already started using some of the materials.  Many of the supplies will be used in projects throughout the year.

Brown Bear, Brown Bear

Kindergarten students are bringing home a special project to share with their families.  After listening to the story Brown Bear, Brown Bear What Do You See? by Bill Martin Jr, and Eric Carle each scholar made a brown bear booklet and necklace to help retell the story.  They retold the story at school and are anxious to share the story at home as well.  Enjoy!

Day 2

Today we worked on learning hallway expectations at our school.  Ask a kindergarten student about rules for the hallway and they will share that we are quiet in the hallway, keep our hands on our own bodies, walk on the right side of the hallway, and stop at the purple paw prints.  If we see someone we know we can give them a silent wave and of course a big smile.  Another thing they might mention is that on day 2 they did a great job following RES hallway expectations and earned many links.  Nice job kindergartners.

First Day of School

The first day of school is always exciting for everyone, students and teachers alike.
We had a fantastic start to our school year!  Kindergarten scholars enjoyed making and wearing first day of kindergarten crowns.  We even had time to read some of the books in our individual book bins.  Most of all we had fun playing together and getting to know each other.

Kindergarten Orientation

Thank you kindergarten students and families for coming to kindergarten orientation.
It was wonderful to see so many of you this morning.  Despite the heat everyone had a
good time playing with new friends and seeing the classroom.
See you next Wednesday, August 26 for our first full day of kindergarten.
