The science investigations continued today. We were looking at how the amount of force could change the motion of objects. Rocket launchers, shuffleboard with lids, and air soccer were the activities we used this morning to investigate force and motion. We couldn't believe that some of our rockets actually hit the ceiling in the cafeteria.

Force and Motion Investigations
Monday morning kindergarten students rotated through several stations in the cafeteria.
The stations involved investigating the amount of force it takes to move objects of different
weights. Investigations also involved comparing the distances that different objects can move
when given the same amount of force. It was a great way to start our Monday morning.
It was amazing to see kindergarten students testing their ideas and coming up with reasons for what happened. We can't wait to continue with our investigations.

Force and Motion
Investigation #1
Today we introduced the concept of force and motion. Students had to come up with a plan for how to move a heavy box of blocks to the top of the play structure. They drew their plan before we went outside to investigate. Kindergarten scholars came up with great ideas to test out. A lot of our ideas involved working together to move the box. We also liked the idea of using a rope to help us move it. We learned that we can move things by pushing or pulling them.
