Today we planned and built structures to provide shade for our little "bears". Ms. Lafont, our student teacher, created and taught the lessons for this part of the unit. Mrs. Rankin helped us build our structures in the maker space this afternoon. Students used many materials to create their unique structures. Tomorrow we will test out our structures and see if we have protected our bears from the sun. Check out these hard-working engineers and scientists.

Author Visit
Author John Churchman came to RES today. He read his book The SheepOver to kindergarten classes. Mr. Churchman even read some of his new book, The Easter Surprise. Students loved his books and were so excited that one of the characters from the book came with him. Laddie, a working dog from Farmer John's farm, visited with us as well. Thank you Farmer John for sharing your books with us. Thank you Mrs. Wood for organizing this author visit for our school.

Valentine's Day Class Celebration
On Thursday, February 14, students will be exchanging Valentine’s Day
cards in our classroom. Our focus is friendship, kindness and caring.
We will also have a small class celebration with fruit and popcorn.
I have created a sign-up genius for families to sign up to send in treats.
Thank you.
