Our class took a few laps around the track today and then had fun doing our science and math outdoors. Kindergarten scientists collected, sorted, and counted acorns and leaves. They even made observations about how the leaves were the same or different.

Read-To-Self
We are readers! Look at these amazing students reading to themselves. They are following our read-to-self expectations of staying in their reading spots, reading quietly, focusing on their books, and reading pictures and possibly some words. We are already learning a great deal from our "learn about the world" or (non-fiction) books. We also love reading our storybooks.

Nature Scavenger Hunt
Today we went on a scavenger hunt in the Neighborhood Forest. Students did a great job searching the forest for the things on our list. We found almost everything. It was wonderful to see students working together and helping each other. We love the outdoors!

Our First Days in Kindergarten
Our first days in kindergarten have been wonderful! Kindergarteners are working together, making friends, learning expectations, and having fun. What an amazing group! Our class earned 200 "clicks" today for acts of kindness and for following expectations. (We were able to light two lightbulbs on the school board.) Our school is on the road to earning a celebration.
