We Love Playing in Snow!

Kindergarten students had a great recess today!  The weather was wonderful and the snow was sticky.
We made snow people, dug holes, shoveled and slid down the slippery slides into piles of snow.
The perfect January recess!

February Share Calendar

Thinking ahead to next month.  I just noticed that the updated share calendar for February still had mistakes with dates.  The third time must be the charm.  I'm hoping this revised calendar is correct.
(If dates are wrong this time just go by student names.)   Click on the link below to go to the latest

Pomanders with Fourth Grade Buddies

There was a wonderful smell coming from Ms. Senning's fourth grade classroom this morning.
The combination of citrus and cloves was traveling down the hallway.  Kindergarten students and their fourth grade buddies got together this morning to make pomanders, a clementine or orange with cloves pushed through the outside skin.  Students enjoyed creating snowman, stars, lines and swirls on
their clementines with the cloves.  They loved the smell and the opportunity to work with their fourth grade buddies.  What a fun morning!

Hat Day

We love celebrations!  Today our school celebrated positive behavior with Hat Day.  There were so many different and wonderful hats on students and staff members.

Book Sale

Kindergarten students picked out lots of wonderful books at the book sale today.  Thank you to
Mrs. Berliner for organizing this annual event.  What a great opportunity for our students to add books to their home collections.  The sale supports RES students and purchases new books for the UVM Children's Hospital.

Fourth Grade Buddies

We are thankful for our fourth grade buddies in Ms. Senning's class.  We had fun making turkey glyphs with them today.  Our turkeys told so much about us.  The number of feathers represented our age.  If our turkey had a yellow beak the person who made it was a girl but if the beak was orange then it belonged to a boy.  If the turkey body was black then the person who made it does not like to eat turkey but if the body was brown then the person likes turkey.  We love working with our fourth grade buddies.
