Flynn Performance

Kindergarten and third grade classes went to the Flynn theater to see Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters.  We had seats in the very front of the theater.   The performance was based on an African tale and included singing, dancing and a wonderful story.  We all enjoyed the show and marveled at the scenery, lighting, clothing and masks.  The performers made the story come alive.  Thank you to Darcie Rankin for arranging our trip and to all the parent volunteers who came with us to chaperone.

Creating Dream Homes for Pets

As part of a science unit on organisms we have been learning about what animals and plants need to survive. One of our favorite activities was creating dream homes for pets.  The home had to have everything the pet needed to live.   Students were very creative as they designed and built animal homes.

Flynn Companion Workshop

On Wednesday we had a Flynn teacher come in to help us prepare for our trip to the Flynn on May 1 to see Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters.  She helped us understand the performance and what we would see.  We found out that there would be African drums and masks.  We were thrilled to try on a mask, hear a
drum and learn how to show emotions with our voices and bodies.   The games and activities helped us understand the show and the characters' feelings.  Our class is so excited to go to the Flynn when we get back from vacation.

RES Science Fair

RES SCIENCE FAIR

Thursday March 16th, 2017

Students in Grades K- 4 will be sharing their great science projects in the RES gym!  The Farm to School program will be offering a dinner during the event so that both participating families and those looking for a night out can grab a great meal!   Raffle prizes will be awarded to students who ask great science questions! Everyone is welcome!

Math and Muffins on Monday

Thank you families for joining us this morning for math and muffins.  Kindergarten students had a great time teaching you some of our math games.  They are definitely mathematicians.
