Audubon Nature Center - Insect Investigation

During our field trip to the Audubon Nature Center kindergarten students observed and investigated insects in a pond, field and forest.  We scooped up dragonfly nymphs with our nets at the pond.  It was interesting to see how different the dragonfly nymph (larva stage) looked from the adult dragonfly.  At the field we found many insects including young grasshoppers and leafhoppers.  In the forest we played a game where we sorted plastic creatures.  We were able to figure out which ones were insects and which ones were not.
