VYCC Farm Field Trip

Today both kindergarten classes went to the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps (VYCC) farm near the Monitor Barn.  Kindergartners enjoyed participating in activities involving animals and plants. We loved seeing the baby chicks, rabbits and calf.  We also helped collect eggs.  Each class planted 200 sunflowers for the front fields at the farm and an apple tree.  We even planted our own sun flowers to take home.   Our field trip connected with our science unit on organisms.  Thank you to everyone at VYCC for a wonderful field trip.  Thank you to Mae Quilty, our Farm to School coordinator, for joining us.  Thank you to our parent chaperones for assisting on our field trip.  It was our first and only warm and sunny field trip of the school year.
