Schoolyard Ecosystem Exploration
Kindergarten Scientists spent quite a bit of time on Thursday, November 13 exploring the wooded area behind our school. They used their science observation skills and tools from their science backpacks to make discoveries. Scientists noticed that binoculars were very helpful in seeing birds in far off trees and even made the hills and mountains seem much closer. Magnifying glasses aided kindergarten scientists in discovering more about seeds, moss and trees in the woods. We enjoyed using the outdoor nature classroom and nature trails. We were all excited to find living creatures in the leaves on the forest floor. We found worms, centipedes and even a wood frog! We can't wait to go back.
